Funny Book Titles

Ready for a good laugh? Me too!

There's a lot of pressure on writers to come up with impressive book titles. The following titles are memorable for their richter-scale-level-giggles.

First, my favorite:

Poor Pooh. We can't forget this one:

In the "huh?" category:

In the "I knew it!" category:

In the "check the closets I'm totally freaked out" category:

Aaaaaand, back to bodily functions:

Aren't these fun? Okay, okay, there's a theme here. But give me a break, I live with three boys! (Four if you count my husband)

Have you seen any fun book titles? What are your favorites, funny or not?

  4. The Gas we Pass is my personal favorite - probably because I have a few brothers and my Dad never did outgrow his amusement over them - but then, maybe boys never outgrow finding farts funny :)

    1. Exactly! Thank goodness my husband doesn't do the "pull my finger" trick my dad used to do.

    1. Amen to that, Jimmy. I'm sure you're house has plenty of "it's all fun and games until someone gets hurt" moments.

  6. These are awesome! When I was in college, taking a children's literature class, I came across a picture book called The Dead Bird. It was about these kids who found a dead bird. "The bird was cold and stiff." I kid you not, that was the first line of the book. rofl. Weird enough that someone wrote that book for kids, but the fact that it was actually published...

  8. Ha! Hilarious! I think Cooking with Pooh should be required for every mom with grade-school children. ;-) As for other weird books, how about: The Booger Book: Pick it, Lick it, Roll it, Flick it!

I am not even kidding! You can order it on Amazon. o_O

    Okay...
The cat photo book: My big book of pretty pussies.

  13. These are all funny, but the one along these lines that really gets to me is a book called "Mister Poop", or "Senor Caca" in its original language. The cover shows a pic of a turd-man dressed in golf clothes. I kid you not.

  14. Yes, but I can never remember the great titles when asked to recall them! :) Love the cook with Pooh one.

  15. I knew of a guy who bought is coffin early and because he had insomnia spent sleepless nights hotgluing buttons in it, until it was covered. That was weird enough, but I've never known anyone who built their own coffin.

  16. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Now I'm off to buy the potato book. Can't wait. Did you do a cover reveal for it earlier?

  17. These are hilarious! Gotta love The Gas We Pass title. I'm also a fan of the book Everyone Poops. The illustrations in that book are just so funny! I don't even have kids as an excuse. Do little nieces and nephews count?

  18. OK, Cooking with Pooh is like the best title EVAH!!! :D We have the book Everybody Poops. There was a reason we bought this (when my youngest was potty training, she was phobic).

Thanks for the giggles, Julie! :o) <3

  20. Awesome. Thanks soooo much for that! I also live in a house full of boys, so I can appreciate your theme. I especially love the cover with the hindquarters of the elephant (we also love elephants in this house).

  21. Haha, love these! My son sleeps with a stuffed Winnie the Pooh bear that always seems to go missing, so I'm always asking him "Where's your Pooh?" and have to ignore my husband's giggles. ;)
