"The daily grind of hard work gets a person polished"
-unknown
At first, I thought the above quote said "published." I'm beginning to think I have a one-track mind.
Anyway...
Here is some miscellaneous good stuff plucked from the internet:
Another free online writer’s conference is taking place at The Muse Online Writer’s Conference. The conference dates are October 11-17, 2010, and the deadline to register is August 15, 2010.
Over at Rants and Ramblings, agent Rachelle Gardner teaches writers how to deal with contradictory feedback.
Query Tracker had some great stuff, such as giving yourself permission, when you're weary, and grabbing an agent's attention with your query.
Author Magazine dishes about the Top 10 Publishing Myths.
And another quote, just for the fun of it:
"Creativity comes from trust. Trust your instincts. And never hope more than you work."
-Rita Mae Brown
Always good info!!
ReplyDeleteThanks Lisa! I know we share the one track mind, for sure.
ReplyDeleteGreat links. I've been enjoying Rachelle's posts this week.

Wendy, me too. So much to learn!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the links, Julie! That cracks me up that you first thought the word "polished" was "published." It's on our minds probably way too much :)
ReplyDeleteThanks again!
Marissa
Marissa, amen to that! Sometimes I feel like an obsessed crazy person. Thanks for stopping by!
ReplyDeleteI thought the same thing from the first quote! Then I read what you wrote and I had to re-read it. I guess writers do have a one-track mind! But it's good to always be positively thinking about what you want! :)
ReplyDeleteLaura, maybe the power of suggestion will do the trick!
ReplyDeleteGreat links. I love the quote too. I should trust my insticts more. :)
ReplyDeleteLindsay, I thought the same thing when I read that. I think we second guess ourselves too much.
ReplyDeleteall great linkage! Thanks!
ReplyDeleteI think you can easily substitute the word published for polished! Thanks for the links. I'm going to check out the one about myths right now.
ReplyDeletegreat post thanks Julie!
ReplyDeleteCreepy Query Girl, Karen, and Melissa, you're so welcome! Enjoy.
