I was fortunate enough to receive three blogger awards recently, so it's time to pay it forward.
I received the Versatile Blogger award from Jessie Harrell, Melissa, J. Kaye, and James Garcia Jr. Thank you!
In keeping with the rules of this award, here are 7 random (nutty) facts about me:
- I'm strangely concerned about chairs at the kitchen table. They must be pushed in.
- I love hard, fruity candy and jawbreakers. A bag of Lifesavers sits near my computer, and I crunch them while I write. "Hello, Dentist? It's me again."
- I met my husband when I was 12 years old, while standing in the snack line in 7th grade.
- I won't eat chicken off the bone.
- I believe Hershey's Kisses taste best at Christmas time, when they're wrapped in red and green foil.
- I'm a homebody, and like to be settled in by 8 p.m.
- At a whopping 5' 1", I'm the tallest woman in my family.
I'm passing this award on to the following cool people:
- Bekah
- Leigh D'Ansey
- Janet Sumner Johnson
- Kay Evans
- Perry Block
- Emma Michaels
- Janel's Jumble
- Hannah Stoneham
- Mary Mc Donald
- Kerrin Hearfield
I received this Who's Awesome? award from Karen Gowan. How cute is this little doggie? He looks like he's winking at us.
Here's three blogs I think are awesome:
- Jennifer Shirk
- Shannon O'Donnell
- Angela Ackerman's The Bookshelf Muse
And finally, this Honest Scrap award was given to me by Kerrin Hearfield. Thanks, Kerrin! I'm passing this one along to these honestly great bloggers:

Oh, I had a slight interruption whilst reading this... I had to go check my kitchen chairs were pushed in. Yes, me too.
ReplyDeleteCongrats Julie - awards always make you smile don't they :) I can't eat hard candy cause it cuts my tongue but i love the sugar jubes (and am sooo not allowed them!)
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on the awards, Julie!
ReplyDeleteNaomi, I'm worse than my kids when it comes to candy. It's horrible.
ReplyDeleteKay, I'm so excited to give you the first award! Congratulations to you.
Cate P, I'm so glad to know I'm not alone with my weird obsession with tables and chairs.
Nicole, maybe it would be a good thing if candy cut my tongue. That would teach me! (although the cavities didn't teach me, so who knows)
Sandy, thanks. And thanks for stopping by!
Congratulations on the your awards and to all the winners!

ReplyDeleteCongratulations Julie and that's really sweet about meeting your husband like that, sounds like a good book:) And I'm terrible for pushing in chairs too, that and cleaning non-stop, it's my thing!
ReplyDeleteOh, you are a popular girl! I have something for you on my blog today.
ReplyDeleteI don't like chicken off the bone, either. That's so sweet how you met your husband.
Oh Creepy Query Girl, you're so welcome! I noticed you had lots of awards (much deserved) but not this one. Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteClara, thank you!
Olive, it must be in our woman genes (not jeans). I'm always cleaning too!
Stina, you are a doll. Thanks for the award!
Hey, congrats and thanks for the award! Julie, I'm not known for being effusive (I'm a bit of a 'bah-humbug' like my Dad) but I totally love your blog!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on all your lovely awards!
ReplyDeleteLeigh, you're welcome!
ReplyDeleteLydia, thanks so much, and thanks for stopping by.
Julie,
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for The Versatile Blogger Award. For once, an award that doesn't go to Meryl Streep!
And I am a Versatile Blogger! I can blog and chew gum at the same time!
Honestly, though, I am unfamiliar with the award. Do I have to make any personal appearances? If I am unable to fulfill my duties over the coming year, does the runner-up Versatile Blogger become the Versatile Blogger? When do I get the lavish financial remuneration that undoubtedly comes with the award?
I look forward to your reply, especially to Question No#3. And please don't keep me waiting, don't forget I am a Versatile Blogger!
Thanks again for thinking of me, Julie!
Perry, seriously, you crack me up. Appearances? Financial remuneration? Pah leeeeze! Enjoy the award that Ms. Streep would be jealous of.
ReplyDeleteThis is the 2nd blog I've found tonight that I KNOW I read and commented on this morning but the post showed up on my reader as new and my comment is GONE. (grumble grumble)
ReplyDeleteCongrats to all the winners!!!!
Congrats on your awards! I loved reading your seven random facts. :)
ReplyDeleteVicki, that is so weird! The forces of Google evil are working against you today. Thanks for coming around again so we could chat!
ReplyDeleteAmy, thanks for reading about my oddities!
Congrats on the awards! Ah, I also think there's something especially magical about Hershey Kisses at Christmastime :D Thanks for sharing - it was fun learning more about you. And thanks for visiting my blog!
ReplyDeleteZoe, so nice to know I'm not the only one who thinks the same chocolate tastes better with a colorful wrapper!
ReplyDeleteJulie,
ReplyDeleteThere is just something about chicken off the bone that is revolting!!
I'm blushing over here: ) THANKS!!! I've read several of your articles and love them. And I love the Livesaver idea. I think it will keep me from going to the kitchen ten feet away when I hit a bump in the road!
ReplyDeleteAnd 5'3"....THE shortest in a family of women where the next shortest lady is 5'8". I always say I got the runt gene.
Remember...it's Hot Thursday LOL ; )
Alexis, I totally agree. Then there's the cartilage at the joints...ugh! Thanks for stopping by.
ReplyDeleteBekah, you're so welcome. And let's hear it for the little people!
Sorry to ahem, burden you with more awards, but I gave you an award on my blog, btw!
ReplyDeleteLydia, you crack me up. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your awards!
ReplyDeleteI met my husband in my senior year of high school but you have me beat! That's romantic.
Congrats to you and to all the bloggers you passed awards on to. And yay for me since I now have new bloggers to meet.
ReplyDeleteI should mention Julie, that at 5'10", I am the shortest in my family.
Theresa, you married your high school sweetie? That's awesome.
ReplyDeleteHelen, so YOUR family is the one who got all the height!
Congratulations on all your awards, Julie! So deserving.
ReplyDeleteI love that you met your husband when you were a child! So sweet!
Thanks, Carolina!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on all the awards! I met my husband when we were in 6th grade. There's a big old heart around his face in my yearbook from that year. It took eleven years for him to feel the same way...boys are so slow!
ReplyDeleteLisa and Laura, that's so sweet! You probably even saved a whole page of your yearbook for him to sign, and he just wrote "have a great summer." Men!
ReplyDeleteJulie, sounds like I'd fit right in with the women in your family. (At 5'3", I'm the shortest in mine.) And I married my high school sweetheart, too:)
ReplyDeleteKrista, yipee for short people! Such great stuff in short packages. Thanks for stopping by.
